Colleges See Rise in H1N1 Swine Flu
College campuses are seeing the first uptick in new H1N1 swine flu cases since November. New H1N1 swine flu cases are up 52% since last week -- to 4.1 cases per 10,000 students from 2.7 per 10,000 last week, the American College Health Association (ACHA) reports. Thousands of high-risk kids missing 2nd H1N1 flu doses
Hundreds of thousands of children are overdue for a second dose of H1N1 vaccine that's needed to fully protect them from swine flu, a USA TODAY review of data from 10 states shows. "My fears are people have truly lost interest in H1N1," said Frank Welch, medical director for pandemic preparedness in Louisiana, where the registry shows just 18% of 97,778 children have received the booster, 25% are overdue, and the rest are coming due. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Up to 30 million doses of vaccine against the pandemic H1N1 flu have been delivered to the U.S. government and production is now picking up, officials said on Monday.
